Rink Cleaning

Every team will have assigned cleaning weeks. On that week, the cleaning dates will run Monday to Sunday night. The rinks need to be clean for the next team starting the next week. 

Pay attention to the Varsity Men's and Women's game schedules and the Chippewa Steel schedule. For Chi Hi Men's games and Chippewa Steel games, CYHA hires a cleaning service to clean the South Rink and concessions area after the game. The assigned team for that week is still responsible to clean the North Rink and verify the locker rooms not used by the visiting team in the South Rink. For Chi Hi Women's games, the team assigned to clean that week is responsible to clean after the game.

We understand that people have young children, and it doesn’t always work to be cleaning after game time. Please communicate as a team and if works for the team, the cleaning can be done the next day during the day - but needs to be done before youth practices start the next day (or any scheduled rental time or games, etc.).

We have found that cleaning is most successful if families are assigned a night and tasks are assigned to those families. It ensures that everything gets cleaned and that everyone is assigned a task throughout the week. Parents can switch amongst themselves as needed. Skaters are welcome (and encouraged) to come help clean as well as it's their rink too!

In general, if you see a mess at the rink, a full garbage can or something that needs to be done, take care of it! We're a volunteer run rink and association and we want to have a clean rink that that looks professional for our association members, renters and guests.

• The cleaning supplies are located in the "cleaning supply room" which is located in the locker room hallway just past the restrooms on the right. Brooms, mops, vacuums, cleaning supplies, etc. can be found in this room.
• Replacement paper supplies like hand towels and toilet paper can be found in the men's and women's room. Replacement soap can be found in the cleaning supply room.
• There is a set of keys to the left in the cleaning supply room by the light switch if needed to open the dispensers (soap, toilet paper, etc.).
• If the batteries die in the hand towel dispensers, they can be found in concessions either in the desk drawer or to the right, behind the door to concessions on the shelf.

• The cleaning supplies are located in the "cleaning supply room" which is located in the second locker room hallway (nearest the corner) and is on the left side. Brooms, mops, vacuums, cleaning supplies, etc. can be found in this room.
• Replacement paper supplies like hand towels and toilet paper can be found here as well, as well as keys, batteries, etc.
