24-25 CYHA Registration

All hockey players, regardless of their age, must register to skate. This includes first year skaters and high school skaters wanting to participate in pre-season ice.

Registration will open on August 22, 2024 and close on September 27, 2024. Any registrations for returning skaters received after that date will be assessed a $20 late registration fee.

All registrations must be completed (and paid for) online, through our website.

Practices will have different start dates depending on the age group:

• High School: September
• Squirts/10U & Above: October
• Mites & Younger: November

All skaters are required to register with USA Hockey. Once registration is complete on their website, a unique identifier will be provided and will be required to complete the registration process for CYHA.

Effective August 1st, neck laceration protection is required for all skaters under the age of 18 for any practice or game participation. This is not optional and will be enforced by CYHA. Please ensure your skater has approved protection prior to skating.

The Volunteer Hours Policy has been revised this year and has switched to a per skater vs. a per family requirement. Please review the policy in its entirety and ensure you understand your commitment prior to the season starting. To summarize some major changes:

• Hours are required at the skater level, with a maximum of 50 hours per family
• Hours can no longer be carried over season to season
• Steel Games and Open Skate are now Team Responsibilities and no longer qualify for volunteer/work assessment hours

We need your help! CYHA is a volunteer run association and we need more volunteers. Specifically, we need more help in the following areas:

• Concessions
• Zamboni
• Game scheduler
• Ice maintenance
• Cleaning
