The Chippewa Figure Skating Club (CFSC) is a non-profit organization that has been in existence since 1980. We are affiliated with the Chippewa Youth Hockey Association (CYHA) and all figure skaters are members of the Chippewa Youth Hockey Association. The Chippewa Figure Skating Club Board of Directors encourages families to take an active interest in the ice arena. This is your ice arena! If you see something that needs to be picked up or something that need attention, please feel free to help out.
Our club is divided into 3 programs based on the skill level of the skater. “Learn to Skate” (“LTS”) program is for beginner figure skaters, Junior Club is for intermediate figure skaters, and the Senior Club is for the advanced figure skaters. The purpose of the programs is to instruct, practice and advance its members in all types of figure skating. Chippewa Figure Skating Club is a member of the USFSA (United States Figure Skating Association) and it is the governing body of amateur figure skating in the United States.
The USFSA makes the rules of the sport of figure skating on ice. The USFSA is a member of the ISU (International Skating Union), a class “A” member of the United States Olympic Committee and an allied member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The USFSA administers its own rules so as to ensure the eligibility of qualified United States skaters and officials to participate in international skating events. The USFSA sponsors competitions on every level, is an incentive to train, develop, improve proficiency, and to select skaters to represent the United States in World and Olympic competitions.
As a member of the Chippewa Figure Skating Club you pay fees and are a member of the United States Figure Skating Association. All skaters in the club are eligible to test and compete.
